Federation of Canadian Municipalities Transition 2050 Guidebook
Client Federation of Canadian Municipalities
Location Canada
Schedule January 2018 – March 2018
SSG assisted the Federation of Canadian Municipalities in preparing a guidebook written in accessible language to assist municipalities which are undertaking commitments to deep reductions in greenhouse gas emissions as part of the Transition 2050 Partnership Grants. While each group applying for a Transition 2050 Grant takes a unique approach on the commitment, there are many commonalities that will need to be considered and this guidebook provides that common reference point, with an emphasis on implementation. The guidebook includes a series of questions that municipalities ask individually and collectively as they work through the process; the answers to these questions will provide new insights to FCM over the course of the program.

SSG’s work is carried out on unceded and unsurrendered Indigenous territories, ranging from the traditional lands of the Michif Piyii in the North to the Huilliche in the South; from Hul'qumi'num Peoples in the West to the Mi'kma’qi in the East.
SSG recognizes that land acknowledgements alone are insufficient. We are committed to educating ourselves about the lands we are on and ensuring that our work contributes to healing and decolonization.
