Richmond Hill Community Energy & Emissions Plan
Client The Town of Richmond Hill
Location Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada
Schedule April 2019 – August 2020
The Town of Richmond Hill is developing a Community Energy and Emissions Plan (CEEP), which will run in parallel to the York Region Community Energy Plan and will involve extensive community engagement before going to Council. SSG will develop a community engagement plan to inform and prioritize a series of low carbon actions in the Town. Financial modelling will be completed by SSG to examine dollars spent on energy, job creation, and where and how renewable energy can be deployed to most benefit the Town. Richmond Hill is experiencing a period of high growth in population and employment, and will benefit from SSG’s land use modelling expertise to make best use of new transit corridors while also capitalizing on the development of District Energy technologies that accompany higher density nodes and corridors. The Town of Richmond Hill will use their CEEP to update their corporate strategies and use in the developing of their upcoming Official Plan renewal.
