Clean Nova Scotia Climate Action Mitigation Plan
Client Clean NS
Location Nova Scotia, Canada
Schedule August 2019 – November 2020
The Clean Climate Action initiative is a partnership of six rural municipalities in Nova Scotia. The purpose is to increase the capacity, knowledge and skills necessary to advance deep GHG emissions reductions in those communities. The Transition 2050 scope is to perform climate action plans for the partner municipalities, fulfilling the requirements for FCM’s Partners for Climate Protection (PCP) program milestones.
SSG has been engaged as the modelling and planning consultant on this project, to support the municipalities in performing their GHG inventories, forecasting their energy use and emissions production from the current year to the year 2050, setting emissions reductions targets for 2050 and interim years, and developing climate action plans.

SSG’s work is carried out on unceded and unsurrendered Indigenous territories, ranging from the traditional lands of the Michif Piyii in the North to the Huilliche in the South; from Hul'qumi'num Peoples in the West to the Mi'kma’qi in the East.
SSG recognizes that land acknowledgements alone are insufficient. We are committed to educating ourselves about the lands we are on and ensuring that our work contributes to healing and decolonization.
