The City of Guelph is a recognised leader in energy and emissions planning in Canada, and many subsequent energy planning activities have been informed by the City of Guelph’s efforts. SSG led a project to update Guelph’s Community Energy Plan, which included completing a baseline inventory and future scenarios to 2050 for buildings, transportation, the energy system and GHG emissions. Phase 2 of the project involved the simulation of sector based outcomes in support of a community dialogue, and the identification of high-level GHG targets. Detailed energy and emissions mapping and financial analysis are integral to the project.
