You’re invited to a one day symposium during the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco on September 13, focused on the next wave of approaches for designing and modelling low carbon/decarbonisation pathways for cities. The symposium is targeted to practitioners, policy-makers, city staff and academics who are actively involved in modelling or pathway design.

Objective:

To take stock of the current state of practice and to develop an agenda for the next wave of city energy and emissions modelling.

An open invitation to present or participate:

The symposium is limited to 80 people and will include leading thinkers/practitioners on low carbon/decarbonisation pathways.

  1. Submit a proposal to present.
  2. Apply to attend as a participant.

Presentations:

Presentations should address the themes of the role of land-use, decarbonisation as economic development, data considerations, modelling approaches, case studies, equity and co-benefits. Presentations should be detail-oriented. Proposals for presentations should be submitted by August 20 at 4 pm PST. The team will confirm the presentations and agenda three days following that date.

About us:

SSG has led the development of low carbon pathways for more than 50 cities and over the past three years has developed a systems dynamics model to evaluate city-scale energy and emissions pathways with our partner whatIf? Technologies.
